Six days a week flowers and plants are being supplied to florists and garden centres across a large section of northern England from their modern headquarters. Flowers and plants are being bought in from English and Italian growers and the Aalsmeer auction. This family business is one of the largest Cash and Carry's in England, with approx. 5,000 different types of quality flowers. Their large and modern headquarters showcase the latest trends and innovations, as well as the latest indoor and outdoor plants. They are always a step ahead of the latest special events or new seasons products and are constantly adding new and interesting items to their range. Their employees have real 'green fingers' and between them share a vast range of knowledge and experience.

Job description

The candidate we are looking for will be actively working in the whole process from purchasing to sales. The purchasing is carried out through the KOA method or directly from the growers. Subsequently the product is sold to their clients such as florists and garden centres in the north of England. A selection of flowers and plants is kept in stock but the vast majority is purchased fresh daily.

The challenge
To be successful in this position the candidate must have significant commercial experience in the (international) trading of flowers and plants. This candidate has an understanding of flowers and plants, knows what quality is, which grower supplies what, what the pricing and opportunities are at the auction or directly with the grower. This is a person who is actively involved in the flower sector and who will come up with ideas and plans to optimize the latest trends. They will know how to sell their enthusiasm to their customer and will contribute to the success of the company. Job Requirements

• Evidential experience of (international) trading in flowers and plants
  
• Significant knowledge of flowers and plants
  
• Strong commercial sense for the 'best deal'
  
• Enthusiastic and convincing, also in a new environment
  
• Will come with new inspiration, ideas and plans
  
• Feels at home in England and is a good English speaker and writer.
